Is there anything us Verizon customers can do to get around them basically bricking our phones... or are we screwed? I have the shield but I know thats not enough. Please reply here if you have a solution or pm me so "prying eyes" can't see. Please no "maybe you can do this or maybe you can do that".... I am looking for a real solution if there is one. Thanks Alliance for all you have done so far!

I'm Verizon as well, and No, I don't think there is at this time, because Verizon has basically said, "OK, Smartypants... you've avoided the updates we've tried to push, so we'll just shut you off one by one on our end..."
But if someone DOES pm you with that bulletproof, real solution??? Please PM me, too!!! Thanks!
I'm personally just trying to tread water until a possible solution is found, or until the backlash against Verizon is great enough that they will relent... but I'm probably just dreaming there.
I will be contacting the CPSC, and my State's Attorney General, and filing another informal FCC complaint.

I have filed both BBB and FCC complaints. Got a response on the BBB one - have to wait till Monday to call the Verizon executive representative. All I am asking for is the money they owe me (upgrade fee reversal, Asurion fee reversal for the 4 months since the second recall, refund on tax paid on the phone, and the bill credit of $25 we were promised for the first recall fiasco that I still haven't received). I will also request that I get some sort of a loaner (since I gave my old phone away assuming this one was going to be useable for the next 2 years) until I decide to purchase an actual upgrade. I am going to try for an S7 or S7E - I will see if they will let me pay the current monthly fee for that phone for the duration that I use it without a contract, essentially a rental.

I am also a verizon customer. It sounds like we are completely screwed. They will be blocking our IMEI numbers by the end of this month.RebelR wrote:8700 Is there anything us Verizon customers can do to get around them basically bricking our phones... or are we screwed? Has anyone had any luck or success getting VZW to provide a temp or loaner phone until the S8 or N8 come out? They keep trying to steer me towards the Pixel XL, LG V20, Moto, etc. All phones I have no interest in. Unfortunately, I no longer have my HTC One (M7) to use as a backup, and haven't been able to locate a temporary option yet.

Talked to Verizon with Samsung Rep on the line too. Verizon said everything is set for the imei kill and rolling out to Note 7's every few days/daily. Verizon suggested a prepaid phone as a temporary. I will probably go with a Samsung J3 if I have to. It is only $7/mo or $168 purchase.

not that I'm aware of... when I talked to them, they were more or less like, "Well, you're just going to have to get happy in the same pants you got p****d in, because these are your options..." <sigh> options to BUY... at nearly full price...brian.geller wrote:8905 Has anyone had any luck or success getting VZW to provide a temp or loaner phone until the S8 or N8 come out? Did they actually say they were disabling by IMEI?
