sorry im asking this question again but finally saw a note saying i need to post my question in the support forum and hoping this is the right area to get a reply and if not correct area, then my apologies in advance in regards to the shield product.

Will this update block the updates to my N7 ATT model. Or will i need to also do some other things to it in addition or separate from this. Basically just trying to get an idea fully what this specific app does and not make any assumptions on my part.

I did see the tutorial that was done by Catwoman and not sure if those changes will work alone to prevent the update or must i do the latest update only or both?

Please be more specific to help you.
What measures did you already make to block the updates? What do you mean with "Will this update block the updates to my N7 ATT model" ? What do want have updated?
We recommend now just to use the shield to be sure you are protected.

thanks for the reply. So far i haven't done anything yet and it was when i saw that link for the shield and also saw the tutorial that i got confused if they both have to be done or would the shield itself would work by itself and not require a combination of the the two and wanted to be sure before i did something and not have to uninstall and then reinstall later.

Basically what i want to do is of course block the ATT update coming tomorrow to basically brick the phone with battery not charging at all. Right now i have a replacement phone from the first recall that charged to 100% then it was updated with a new update maybe month later to limit the phone to 60% after samsung cancelled the phone after the new incidents on the replacement phones.

Ideally i would like to prevent it from being not chargeble at a minimum (bricking it so not usable) and as a bonus would like to charge higher than 60% if that is doable. Would like to know upfront if this one tool (shield) will do both or would i need to apply one first and then apply the second one or would just the shield basically provide protection and also allow battery to charger higher than 60%. Hopefully it's just the one fix that is needed?

Here is a link to instructions on how to restore your phone backto 100% charging capacity.

Also, here is the link to the sheild app. Once you get your phone back to capacity. Follow the instructions on how to download and install the sheild app. That should be it. You'll have blocked the updates and you're phone will charge. Any questions, let me know.

thanks for quick response. I will try both shortly. I'm charging my phone and doing a backup with smart switch i already had installed on my pc after i first got the phone. Today saw a notice that there were new upgrades available but declined it in case samsung had some hidden tricks in it

hey all thanks for the input yesterday. I finally got the phone fully charged to 60%, then backed up the phone with smart switch. Then applied the updates from catwoman's tutorial without the package modifications. Upon reboot noticed the green battery icon was back. Then stuck it on charger to see if it would go past 60% and it did.

Then I installed the Shield and followed those instructions and then did a restore from smart switch. Was then able to fully charge phone to 100% with green battery icon. So thanks to all for that. Now have to wait and see if it stays the same tomorrow since i assuming ATT already did the update or will do it throughout today across the country.
