My note 7 screen completely shattered in December and almost gave up on it after dropping 2 bills on front housing with lcd and glass was able to fix it. I am barely seeing this and need the files! Links say files not found...if someone can send them to me i would appreciate it!

Hello guys, I am new to this forum so sorry if I make some mistakes.
I have huawei p9 and I am very interested in this temporary root method as I strive to unlock my bootloader. I am able to get root in selinux context of 'context=u:r:shell:s0' or 'u:r:system_server:s0', but I can't read /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 (there is my bootloader unlock code).
Does anyone still have access to the archive that was available to download in original post in this thread?
I figure there are possible clues for me as to what to do next.
I found archive links in these posts: viewtopic.php?p=17123#p17123 viewtopic.php?p=17355#p17355
but they are all dead... :(
Please send me the archive or reup the files.

This method is based on a Samsung engineering ROM for Note 7. So it cannot work for a Huawei device, at least not without a lot of modifications.
You could try to send a PM to the OP, if he wants to have a look at your problem, but I'm afraid it's complicated for someone who doesn't own the same device.

If I understand correctly, this temporary method exploits some vulnerabilities in selinux to achieve temporary root (pushing files, executing them, switching selinux contexts, impersonating dnsmasq) and that is exactly the way i should go in order to root my device, i just need to look at something that works to learn the tricks and root methods better.

It may work, if your P9 has the same selinux version / patchlevel (or a lower one), where the vulnerabilities aren't fixed yet.
I'd recommend that you try to contact the OP, as he found this solution and is well experienced how to handle it.

Yes, it uses the Dirty Cow method, however like beowulf381 said, It is very device specific. Dirty Cow was patched in 2016-12-05 patch level.zygzagZ wrote: Mon Dec 10, 2018 4:53 am If I understand correctly, this temporary method exploits some vulnerabilities in selinux to achieve temporary root (pushing files, executing them, switching selinux contexts, impersonating dnsmasq) and that is exactly the way i should go in order to root my device, i just need to look at something that works to learn the tricks and root methods better.
You can try and contact the op but he has taken a much needed, and deserved break from all thing Android to be with the important things, family.
EDIT: I added the link to the temp root on the first page. If you get your phone rooted let us know

i might sound dumb, and i know that im almost 5 years late, but does this support any samsung phone w/ exynos? (e.g. S7 Edge).
Currently in harsh situation that requires rooting for my 6.0.1 Android S7 Edge, but seems like this is designed for snapdragon variants, so not sure if it's gonna work.
