I'm going to try to unlock my Verizon Note 7 so that it can be used with T-mobile, as that's who my wife is with.

Is there anything in particular that I need before I potentially destroy the almost working correctly Note 7?

as long as you are protected from updates just put the T-Mobile SIM in.

I recommend the Shield to stop updates.
