That's strange. I'm in the US on Sprint and about 2 months ago PDP v6.3 stopped working and began showing a message that it wasn't able to activate. So I tried updating it at the play store and it pulled in v7.4. And that version has been working ever since. The only problem is that it can no longer see the System Update files. So it can't be used to remove the software update nag screens/notifications. In my case, it seems to work for disabling other packages. But this is on an S7 and an S7e. I don't know if that's the reason.

The app developers of PDP were blackmailed by Samsung to remove the ability to block the update packages, so they won't show at any version above 6.3. If 6.3 is no longer working, you can use shield v1 for all devices other than Note 7 to block update packages. So it will work for your S7 / S7E.beatglitch wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2017 12:43 am That's strange. I see. Thanks. But as long as PDP v7.4 is working do disable everything except software updates, I should be able to use V2 and keep PDP, correct?

Since you updated PDP 6.3 to 7.4, it depends on what you did (blocked) before with PDP 6.3. Even if you update PDP to 7.4 and update packages don't show up there anymore, they can remain blocked if you've done this before using the PDP. Normally, Shield V2 shouldn't interfere with a fresh install of Shield V2, but if updates were blocked otherwise before, it can.beatglitch wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2017 11:30 am I see. Thanks. For your devices (S7 / S7E) you better use Shield V1 (0.5.8). Shield V2 is NOT an update or improvement to V1, It has been developed for N7 users who can't activate Shield V1 because of Samsung revoking Know license for all N7s and using other technology to let update packages fail.

Ok, V1 it is then. Thanks for taking the time to explain and reiterate for me. I suppose I should just remove PDP before intalling V1. I appreciate your help!

Before removing PDP best would be to use a function there to unblock all packages that have been blocked before (if there is such function in 7.4) to not interfere with the blocking measures of Shield V1.beatglitch wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2017 1:25 pm Ok, V1 it is then. Good point. I'll do that. If there is no mass-unblock feature (I can't remember if there is or not), I'll just uncheck all blocked packages before I uninstall. Thank you.
