Google Voice duplicating everything I say

see below what happens when I use Google voice - I say a phrase ONCE, but what is typed repeats over and over, but with subtle differences.

See above... I only said it ONCE! My husband's Note 5 is doing it too, I just discovered as he walked in the door.

1. Tried Google App update
2. Tried shutting down and rebooting into recovery mode, then clearing system cache
3. Tried uninstalling Gboard and reinstalling
4. Turned Samsung Voice off

Any ideas???

This is driving me crazy!

Update - as of just about a half hour ago, the problem just stopped... I didn't do anything. Google must've fixed it!

It has started AGAIN!!! on 2 separate phones, one on Verizon, and one on Straight Talk. Is this not happening to anyone else???

I have Gboard as the keyboard. Iclick the Microphone icon to start Google voice typing. and the top post is exactly what I got. Notice the subtle differences between each one... like the algorithm was trying to figure out which combination was most likely, but instead of selecting one, it sent out all 5. Strange, huh?

Catwoman gave me her Google App apk, as I had updated it. Same results. Will attempt to make a vid and show you some settings...

What happens if you delete/uninstall "Google Updates" and Google Now Updates, etc. It should stop.

What happens if you delete/uninstall "Google Updates" and Google Now Updates, etc. It should stop.

@aztek The latest apk was March 2, but multiple users started reporting problems with this issue yesterday. Considering using Catwoman's older apk made no difference, and my husband (who never updates anything...) started having the same problem with that older apk, also yesterday, makes me think that there is nothing on this end I can do.

The good news is that Google Pixel owners are reporting this directly to Google, and hopefully it will get fixed. It might(?) even be a regional problem with a certain batch of servers, as not everyone is having the problem. After all, with the number of people that use Google Voice Typing, there have to be many servers dishing out speech-to-text for them, I'd imagine.

Yes, I did some googling/reading to find that answer. Seems many people have this issue. Try uninstalling the Google/GoogleNow Updates

I'm not glad that other people are having this trouble, but I do feel better that I'm not just losing my mind! LOL

Google Now is a part of Google Launcher, right? I don't have that launcher (I use Nova)

Google App, I did do the Disable >> factory default version >> and it didn't help.

Update - temporary workaround for anyone who is as crippled by this as I am. Nuance makes an app in the playstore - Swype. When you install it, it is actually called Swype & Dragon. (Nuance is the maker of Dragon NaturallySpeaking) Anyway, it has decent voice recognition, and is just like Google keyboard - you just select "Swype + Dragon" as your default keyboard under Language and Input. done. Sanity restored. @aztek @Catwoman

<edit> for me, this is actually going to be a permanent replacement as opposed to a temporary workaround... As I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking on my PC every day, it is nice to have all the same voice commands for punctuation, etc., on my phone! And it's faster, too. I prefer it to Gboard so far.

OK! As of this morning, and browsing various sites, it seems that Google has fixed what was indeed a problem on their end... and life returns to normal for all the Google Voicers out there!
