I followed instruction to have Shieldx and v3 method installed. Now I cannot backup to PC with Smart switch. I got error message saying 'this device does not support file transfer. Software update only allowed.' I used to backup to PC before I install v3 method. Any help or suggestion is appreciated.

You need an older version of smart switch. The newer versions are still blocking note 7s from when they were recalled. Download an older version of smart switch and it should allow you to backup.
