Exynos Note 7 doesn't start

Hey everyone

Does anyone know how to restore the note 7 if it doesn't turn on even if it's plugged in?
Neither access to Download Mode nor Recovery.
Maybe disconnecting manually the battery? Changing it to a S7 battery?
Any ideas?

Thanks a lot

Hi

The problem is that I have an Exynos note 7 version. A SM-N930F in particular

Also, I can't turn on the device even if it is plugged in. So that solution doesn't fit with my situation.
I suppose I will have to open the device and play with the battery or the internal memory.

Any ideas?

@Odie

since you have a SM-N930F, you posted your question in the wrong section, we have an intl. carriers area here:

https://alliancex.org/viewforum.php?f=38

For the exynos versions there are separate rooting methods available, including custom recovery and custom rom.
This is the only way to roll back the kill update.

But first you have to bring back the device to work.

It should be possible to open the device and to charge the battery outside or by circumventing the charging logic.
But take care, this way you can overcharge it and bring it to burn...

A charged S7 battery could work too, if you connect it properly.

If succeded, you can use this method here:

I was suggested to put a s8 plus battery since it is compatible. Do you think it's a good idea? I could prevent the battery burnning risk, right?

Thanks

As long as you connect the (already charged) S8+ battery it should work to bring back the Note to life.
But you won't be able to charge it again, until you install the custom recovery / root / and custom rom to your device, since the prevention of charging has nothing to do with the battery but with the kernel. Follow the intructions on XDA. If you miss TWRP, use this link:

But as long as I install the stock ROM with a clean installation I should be okay, should I?

Nope. If you are hit with the kill update, then you can't roll back with a stock rom.

The kill update is a baseband 3, and stock rom with charging abilities is baseband 1 or 2.
Flashing a stock rom with a lower baseband level than you actually have is prevented by an e-fuse.

So the only way to get back a full-featured device is to flash a custom recovery, then root the device,
and after this to flash a custom rom (icluding a custom kernel which will bring back the ability to charge).

If that's so, how could I flash the TWRP if can't even turn on the device?

Shouldn't I, at first, flash the 30% stock ROM in order to check the "enable OEM unlock" under developer options?

Thanks

Yep, OEM unlock is a requirement of course. But if you mount a charged battery you can boot the device with the current firmware and check this.

Only if the device won't start the current firmware even with the other battery, but you can reach the download mode instead, you can try to flash a baseband 3 level stock rom with limited charging to fix it. But for this it would be important to know, which is the exact firmware on your device now.
Some exynos based devices have carrier branded firmware installed instead of the common Samsung one. And the the partition sizes may not match and you would need a pit file to flash.

I have the European Note 7 with, and I bought it directly to Samsung. Where can I find the correct pit file for my device?

NO WAY! Since Verizon devices are snapdragon based. Here we talk about an Exynos based device.

@Odie

If you have the original Samsung firmware (unbranded) you don't need the pit file. It would only be necessary if you overflash a carrier branded fw with one from another carrier or the unbranded
