The Shield V1 will work on your Galxy S6 and can act as full package disabler:

On my phone it just downloads a "FILE.php" , not a .APK file?

Maybe you use a crippled browser, like the facebook one: This doesn't work at all.
Use a full equipped one, like chrome, this will work.

Can't see any login attempt to shield servers for your username. That means there was no connection.
Do you have WIFI / mobile data on? Any firewall or security software that may block access?

no firewall or security software ; WIFI / mobile data is on
on app it does not say "no internet connection" above LogIn button, but just
password error ... and I have typed it many times , and checked that it signs
in to site fine on phone . But gives error on App even while open browser is signed in
on site with same username and password ? Maybe I need to wait 24hrs before posts
take place?

Yes ... it takes putting a space before the username and a space before the password at login in the App!
But not when signing in on web site ?

That is very weird. I just tried it on my phone and a space was not needed. Is your password less than 6 char in length?

You might have found TWO bugs.
This site does not allow passwords less than 6, so the shield won't ask the server to check if the pw is less than 6. (if less than 6 it can't be a valid password so don't waste the servers time)
BUT it appears the shield will not ask the server if the password is less than 7.
The second bug is extra spaces are removed on the server before your password. I put 10 spaces then my password and it logged me in. This is incorrect behavior as a space in front of your password should make it invalid.
@turtle Thanks, I have awarded you 175 AG, credited you in the
Changelog and Send me a PM or reply here if you want to beta test Shield X (v3).
