Sudden terrible battery life?

Hello,
In the last two days my battery drain under my regular usage nearly doubled and I can not find the root cause. I have better battery stats installed and have for a long time, I used it when I first got the phone to make sure I wasn't causing undue drain and everything was fantastic. Since the drain issues began better battery stats now is having errors and not showing me any useful data, it merely sits computing until I close it and try again, even after letting it sit for 30 minutes at one point. I have not installed or updated any apps recently, and am at a complete loss for what could be causing the issues. Any thoughts or alternative apps to identify the drain would be most welcome. Thanks in advance. I'd give logs from bbs but unfortunately they aren't populating. And I did uninstall and reinstall bbs as well. I can't think of any other pertinent info. Hopefully someone can help me out.

Did you already try to restart you Note? Had similar issues with other androuid devices in the past.
After restart all was fine.
Oher reasons can be issues with communication (e.g. WIFI or bluetooth). If device tries to connect permanently and fails for waek signal ot auth problems it can drain battery too.

I've restarted, I have checked signal strengths and access points, nothing there. But I did notice that "system update" used 25% of my battery yesterday. No idea why considering it was disabled...

What measures did you take to block the updates? (shield v1 or v2, script, ...)

Ugh, I made the mistake of using the moronic method on 'that other site'. I only just switched to shield v2 today. Calibrating the battery as of 6am. Can already see it's lasting much longer and I think that may have been the culprit. I'll keep updating here and see if that was the cause.

Okay, after a day or so on shield v2 I definitely have better battery life, but nothing terribly significant, maybe 10 hours up from 8-9 hours before.. Before the fiasco with the OTA stuff I was averaging nearly 14-16 hours, I've not made any significant changes to my installed apps or my usage. My major concern right now is I can't even get any data from betterbatterystats, which used to at least give me a direction to go in, sometimes when apps are updated they end up causing major drain that they didn't before. I don't know what apps have updated to try and track down the culprit. Anyone have a solid alternative to betterbatterystats? Thanks again all.
