Well, I see that the Verizon "2nd wave" of attacks has taken place over the last 3-4 days, unfortunately. People who had never been (for whatever reason) hotlined have been hotlined, and some who had been hotlined and reinstated have been re-hotlined.

But I'm trying to establish a pattern here...

Has anyone who got a *different* sim card (by going into a store and activating a backup phone, for example) been busted yet? If so, were you ever hotlined before you tried swapping sims? Did you have them remove the Note 7 from your account before activating another phone?

I bought a Verizon Note7 when the second recall was first announced from some guy for $200. I've been using a T-Mobile SIM card in it since all Verizon phones come unlocked for other carriers. Pretty good deal I gotta say On the T-Mobile site my device is shown as "?" Instead of a Note7.

Good news... did you ever try to activate on Verizon at all?

So i still have my note 7 on Verizon but am about done with it because i have not even been receiving phone calls any more. My friend gave me his old verizon phone but it has the micro SD card. I was thinking of getting that one activated and then trying to cut down the sim so it fits in the Nano slot. Not sure if that may have the possibility of ruining my phone because i'm at about the point where i'm going to switch to Tmoble but if this is something i can try then i'm more than willing to test it out or if there are any thing else to try i've got nothing to lose.

Finally got a different phone activated today. When i went to make a call it took me to customer service like my note7. The lady thought i was trying to activate my note7 (i wish she would have answered when i called to get it off the hotline) but i told her i just got a new phone activated. Then she realized the note7 was hotlined so she made me turn off my phone give her the IMEI and ICCID of my new phone. Turned it off she did some crap and when i turned it back on it was working and she said something about she had to take the hotline off my account. So this card is not a nano sim but i'm thinking about trying to cut it to size and see if it works in the note7. Do you think this will work or is there something else i should try before switching to Tmobile.

i u5e a nigerian 5im card on my verizon note 7. everything work fine until la5t week when mobile data went off on it5 own. the acce55 point name menu too ju5t di55apeared on it5 own i dont know how or why. did verizon do 5omething via my imei? any fix? any1 with 5ame i55ue? now i can only u5e wifi

I removed my SIM card from my note 7 and put it in my note 3 before all the hotlining started around January 20th. I finally decided to try it back in the note 7 on Saturday. So far (3 days now) it's still working fine. Waiting it out to see if it lasts...

I'm on Prepaid Verizon SIM card.. Been hotlined twice, each tome was on Friday around noon. I could go to My Verizon account online and it allowed me to re-activate my service each time. I then chatted with a rep who put a note on my account to not suspend my services anymore. So far, my Note 7 hasn't been suspended from the network since.

Hmm...i put in verizon sim in the note 7. The only message i got was on the notification " phone activated"
made a call...text...went online everything looked normal but i took it out since i was still trying to test the charge ability to 100% and hopefully notcatch fire in the process.

........i had same issue with non tmobile phones even if i clicked on change device...it would never be correct. But when i would call them they can only see imei but not the model. Even on unlocked iphone 6 that was nkt bougjt through them. I am back with verizon for now since rhey open the flood gates of unlimited data. So far my family has been happy of tje change.

My s7e went bonkers changing SIM cards out back and forth with the U firmware. And in repair with samsung. But i am afraid that will do same with note 7 since it do same on note 4. Got a new sim incase it was a bug with it.

I have 2 note 7's both were hotlined (at different times) I brought an old phone with a nano sim slot, got a new sim activated in store, they had to call csr to get the block removed, when I got to the parking lot I swapped the sims and have been good for a while now, my account still even shows the IMEI of the Motorola phone I had brought in to activate. Don't know if it's a fluke but it's been a while now and both note 7's are still active with phone text and data.

How can you tell if your phone was hotlined ? I havent had any major issues after switching to a walmart straighttalk sim card. Sometimes I do have to dial a number more than once and a few dropped calls but other than that all seems ok

Your outgoing calls will be automatically redirected to csr, your text messages will fail to send, others texts to you will fail on their end. It's pretty obvious something is wrong when it happens. The only normal thing is your incoming calls are fine.

Straight Talk is not hotlining. Verizon is. If you're no longer on Verizon, you can't be hotlined. Enjoy your phone on Straight Talk.
