anyone know if any custom roms be available (other than hydra) once root is achieved?

Even for possibly rooted qualcomm n7 devices there is no known custom rom.
They are only available for exynos based devices yet.

So rolling back to the original grey battery version wont still wont allow root?

still waiting for a way to root as well. Only version i've seen so far are for the Exynos SOC. Hoepfully someone can figure this out and share it.

same here, got t-mobil to finally give me a refund for the note 7 but they were 2 scared and refused to take the phone back in store, so i got a spare device to play with

He has a first batch white battery device, never updated.
For these devices the Sprint userdebug rom method will work.
