brijamgel, can you still use your phone to call out or does it take you to tech support and do you still get mobile data? I cannot send or receive SMS or MMS messages or make phone calls. My phone does receive phone calls sometimes, other times people say it goes straight to voice mail. I also can not get mobile data only WiFi works. Let me know how the call works out for you i called Friday and they would not restore me without me buying another device.

Many others on this forum and on FB have reported the same thing. You are still partially hotlined. Demand a new sim, and that will help, but there are still likely blocks on your line, if I understand what I'm reading from others. Good Luck.

Would a replacement of the IMEI fix the hotline issue with Verizon? Or will Verizon see that its a Note 7 then add the new IMEI to the ban list?

I have hear that you can take your Verizon Note 7 to T-Mobile get an account, pop in the sim and the Note 7 is good to go. No hotline, full data. Anybody confirm this is true?

I am currently running my Note7 on Tmobile. Works fine. Went in, the rep tried a Sim from a demo phone. The apn settings had to be changed. So I started no contract service.....till the note 8 or vzw forgets about the note7 and I pop my vzw sim back in...
I have my vzw number being forwarded and using mysms mirror for sms/mms.
I will say, I miss the quality and coverage of Verizon in my area (Tampa, FL) and surrounding areas... so I have my note5 in the truck just in case...

I finally got hotlined and Verizon refuses to turn my service back on unless I go to a different phone or upgrade and buy a new phone. Trying to figure out how exactly this is legal still. They tried to tell me that the government is requiring it, called them out on it. Then they tried to tell me it is a forced recall by Samsung, and that they can't do anything about it, I asked them if Samsung owned their company and dictated how they service their customers and was hung up on. I put my SIM card in my Note 5 and called them and said I was not on a Note 7 any longer, and they still can't restore service to my phone. Anyone had any better luck than I have?!

Not sure why some customer service will reverse and others won't...

Hey Jason,
Yeah they told me they would reverse it for 48hrs, sent me to someone else, they said my service looked fine, still couldn't get it working, called back again, switched to my Note 5, and they still can't get any service to me. I just like how I get a different answer with every single call.

Yeah that's crazy, my girlfriend tried once and they wouldn't reverse it even though it was Jan 28th and she was told the 30th in her text. She pointed that out and they still wouldn't. She gave up and traded it in against my advice to wait a while.

Yeah, finally got my Note 5 up and going....I'm going to wait until tomorrow and pop the SIM in the 7 and see what happens. At least the Note 5 is what shows up as the active phone on my account now. At least when I call them and say I'm on a Note 5 and don't understand what danger that's posing, they can only agree haha.

just spoke with a representative that said that the recall is no longer voluntary. the claimed that the recall is now mandatory based on a government rule or regulation. I protested that i never received any information about it being made mandatory, they said they would reactivate my phone but would need to turn it back off eventually. I said that was fine as long as i was sent the government rule or regulation that proved it.

Just like everyone else, we got hotlined tonight. Talked to one Customer Service rep with no luck of getting them turned back on. If you have any helpful info about switching over to T-Mobile IM me about how you went about doing it with keeping current phone.

I got Hotlined yesterday but when i called the started giving me the run around first saying that the system wouldn't let them. The next person said it was government mandated I called bs and the said they would email me the government order. Then I said that I use my phone for work and can't get to exchange it right this second. They turned it back on an said I need to change it asap. 12hrs later still no email with the regulation.

I was hotlined between last night and this morning. I thought that since Verizon turned off my network, I would be able to dial through the data from another source. I used optimum, and it dialed and rang twice. Then I was rerouted to a message stating I would be in contact with a Verizon rep to purchase a different device. I dialed from the app, "Google Voice," using my Google number, on the Optimum network. I guess it is the sim card. I'll try it again after removing it. Hope that works.
