Hey there, no - remote IMEI swap does not work, nor such feature doesnt exist, at least not yet.

what s the black box your n7 is connected to ? any way can help you there ?
I will try to chime in with something that I feel I can, I have z3x box myself, including lots others, it will be pricey for home users alone and may be too complicated as it is all-in-one software repair/unlock/flash/backup solution, most third party mobile phone repair services have these boxes such as z3x, and perhaps some IT hobbyist enthusiasts too. Although its not an option yet, its a possibility this would be one of the methods to debrick your charging-bricked Note7, and even change IMEI(besides which may be against the law in most countries) ... but unless user is doing it for personal reasons such as "research and repair" etc , it may be a temporary long term solution too when such features are supported

Nope as any carrier is using your MSISDN ID number , changing the IMEI won t help you at all !

I dare to disagree, in some cases - in some countries, mostly outside USA, carriers sell mobile phones and do not tie phone number to IMEI number, thus one can migrate between mobile devices without any adverse consequences, and as a result, if there was a way - altering note7 imei would/could potentially be recognized by the operator as a new different device (of course providing there are no conflicting IMEI within the same country... its more complicated than it seems)

Hi, but can you confirm if z3x can repair note7 Imei? I think it works only on exynos models

Blackcoughy wrote:[post]9323[/post] well guys, a very unlikely source for swap to s7E came through today for me... I now own a s7e thanks to walmart and their uneducated and uninformed employees. A couple hours and a gift card return or two and boom im in a new device, so im happy to announce it was unupdated and contained the awesome APB5 launch FW from june or july whenever the s7e was released XD im a happy man. running ECHOE rom v1.41 deodexed w root and exposed shes a bad b#$ch

Could you give a few details how you did this? Thanks in advance!
Originally I tried Verizon but didn't wanna pay tax, then Samsung, didn't want some random company fondling my poor n7 and swapping dirty hands before I got my s7e from them, so walked up to the electronics section counter while lady was there and just kinda pushed over her inquirys regarding Verizon and said I bought it at Walmart full price and they didn't have opportunity to check maybe. Either way they called Samsung and Samsung told them to take the phone with Vengeance no questions lol and I guess they couldn't do it in the system so refunded 856 dollars to a gift card and I walked out with 65 dollars and a brand new s7e. Heh

Did anything good come out of this box or was it another dead on on the N7?
