I gotta install the shield now, if I use WiFi to download the shield would I get the update before I install the shield?

I am new to here as well, but heard great things about the shield. it's worth a try, especially since corrupting the update APK just causes the phone to constantly try after each error.

maybe you can try dual booting your mac so you can install windows in it as well or install a virtual machine, not too sure if a VM would function correctly though.

yes this process is just to fix the damage done, then you have to install shield to prevent the update from coming back once you have the shield installed you wont have to worry about future updates bricking your phone, just stay out of the software updates section in your phone settings to prevent accidentaly clicking the update button by mistake.

I am also new here. I found my Note 7 in a box in my office and want to revive it. I currently have a Pixel XL and it's just not as fun. I have Verizon and would really like to get this Note active again. I have some free time at night and I think this will be a fun project. Is there an order of operations that I should follow?

Do I need to root my phone before I install the package installer? Also, will you be making a new video for the newest version?
