Right juliesdroidsync - That's great if they don't catch on. I was thinking that. If your phone is functioning through that IMEI number, they're going to know which phone you're on. Would the sim card change that number?

No, the sim card has no affect on your IMEI

let's just say that it is a magical combination of the two...

lay low for a few days... that's what I'm going to do.

and have MULTIPLE options waiting. We're just playing cat & mouse with them. Their pockets are deeper, and they have a lot of really brilliant people working full time with nearly unlimited resources against them.

I am doggone proud so many of us have managed to get around them this long!

I tried to call forward to my Google voice number but calls go straight to voice mail.

... Nevermind, had to update Google voice and stop it from forwarding my calls back to my primary number

It is the Note 7 IMEI that identifies the handset to the Network as a Note 7.
Different carriers around the World have implemented various 'in-Network' technical solutions to enable the Carrier to block the use of a reportedly "Lost' or 'Stolen' mobile on that Carrier's network.
Based upon user feedback this past week, it appears that Verizon may impose a Network-block and a SIM-card block on any Netowrk Service Number that is identified as supporting a Note 7.

The solution to regain the use of your Network-connection appears to require the physical intervention of a Verizon Customer Support Representative to remove those Network and SIM blocks.

You should NOT put any replacement SIM-card in your Note 7 or directly connect your Note 7 to the Verizon Network, once the block is lifted, as Verizon is likely to again disable your Service and SIM.

What do you mean cut it ?

My guess would be cut down a mini sim to a micro sim. You can google/you tube search that.
I think Amazon has a sim cutter too.

Ask your Carrier for a new SIM.. My Carrier has a 'three-part-SIM' in which the SIM-chip is in the normal place on a normal-SIM plastic substrate that has been die-cut to enable me to push out a mini-sim AND then a micro-sim.

The good news, for me as I frequently switch SIMs between research mobile-devices, is that they can be reassembled by placing the required piece left-over on top of the smaller SIM and pressing hard when they snap together - a miracle of the modern die-cut process.

When I got my straight talk sim package, it did have a pop-out form factor... I think that may be the new standard.

Ok people I answered his specific question. I thought I had it covered. I looked at it as micro sims or maybe how to cut the Note 7 in half to make it foldable.
Or it could just be a new guy attempting to get his posts past 5 so he can get the Shield. Not like me who only post's to hear himself think..... all I'm getting is a clicking noise now...... Can anyone help?

Hi guys sorry i Wasn't getting the email that I received new messages on this thread but what I mean is for me when I went into the verizon store I explained to them that I was switching from my note 7 to a note edge they gave me a new micro sim card which at first did not have my text messages work on my line but after calling tech support they fixed it then i took the sim home and used the nano sim cutter at home to cut it and i havent had any problems since i did recieve the recall text message once though

That's awesome you may be on to something, for the people that experience the block persisting on another device, get them to lift it for that new device and maybe you're off the radar now (at least a while) when you put that card back in the note 7!?

That's what makes it unclear how exactly they are blocking / targeting people.

I haven't yet checked to see if I'm blocked, I took my Sim out of the note 7 about a week and half ago was going to try switching it back next week once the blocking excitement died down.

Lol I'm hoping they don't do something stupid to the S8 so that I'll be willing to switch! The S8 plus sounds promising. I'd love a wider phone the size of the note 3 / note 4 but make the screen edge to edge like the note 7. Use the rest of the extra space for a bigger battery.

This is kind of odd. Got the Samsung push notification on my Note 3 saying "This Note 7 is subject to a mandatory recall..."
